(NASDAQ: GLGC) announced today that Thomas Barnes, Ph.D. has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Discovery, to lead the Company’s drug repositioning discovery efforts. Along with Dr. Louis Tartaglia, Dr. Barnes was a co-founder of the drug repositioning venture within Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and he has run Gene Logic’s Drug Repositioning operations since the unit’s acquisition by the Company. Working with Dr. Tartaglia, Dr. Barnes has been responsible for building Gene Logic’s proprietary drug repositioning platform, an industry-leading array of technologies designed to identify new therapeutic uses for discontinued drug candidates.
