FDA Says It’s Approving More Medical Devices More Quickly

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is taking less time to clear medical devices for sale, according to a report released by the agency this week. Medical-technology companies have argued in recent years that the FDA is too slow to review their products and often requests more clinical-trial data than is necessary. Last year, the agency acknowledged it was taking longer to make decisions. However, it put part of the blame on med-tech companies, which it said turned in “poor quality submissions.”
