Connectivity enables all patient vital signs data from each device to be automatically sent into Philips’ information system without clinicians having to manually chart, saving time and allowing clinicians to focus more time on caring for their patients.
Through the Philips and Capsule partnership, hospitals can connect virtually any bedside medical device to Philips IntelliVue Clinical Information Portfolio Critical Care (ICIP-CC) patient data management system. Devices can be Philips devices or non-Philips devices including patient monitors, ventilators, urimeters, balloon pumps, anesthesia machines, and IV pumps.
The first European implementation of Capsule’s DataCaptor 5.0 device connectivity solution with Philips ICIP-CC system is at Hospital Sant Joan de Deu in Barcelona, Spain. The hospital has connected devices including Maquet Servo ventilators, the Alaris Gateway, and Draeger Evita ventilators into Philips ICIP-CC in the ICU.
