FORT WORTH, TX, June 19, 2007 - BioSpace, the leading online information source for life science careers and content and a subsidiary of onTargetjobs, and LifeScience Alley unveiled this morning the 2nd edition of the BioMidwest™ Hotbed Campaign for the life science community of the Midwestern United States. The unique branding and awareness campaign highlights the organizations that constitute the expanding biopharmaceutical industry in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The campaign features both promotional and functional components to work in conjunction with the economic and workforce development initiatives of the region. The much anticipated BioMidwest Hotbed Map, http://www.biospace.com/hotbed_map.aspx?ContentEntityID=937, designed by BioSpace’s artist, creatively displays the logos and building pictures of participating companies. The map is fully integrated with BioSpace.com and is available for download on the BioMidwest Homepage, http://www.biospace.com/hotbed.aspx?RegionID=619 which maintains critical daily biopharmaceutical industry news, careers and information from the region. In addition, various collateral pieces featuring the iconic BioMidwest image will be distributed to life science professionals at regional and international events throughout the year and are also available on the BioMidwest Web site.
A number of different types of organizations are featured as part of the campaign, reflective of the diverse set of foci and talents necessary to grow a life science cluster. The effort includes bioscience companies engaged in R&D, service and supply providers to the community, and also research institutes, non-profit organizations and universities. Detailed online profiles of the participating organizations include contact information, career opportunities, financial updates and history, and can be found through the BioMidwest Homepage.
“LifeScience Alley is pleased to again be part of the BioMidwest Hotbed Campaign,” said Liz Rammer, vice president of marketing and communication for LifeScience Alley. “As the largest life science trade association in the Midwest, it’s important to showcase the breadth and depth of our member organization’s expertise, so being part of the BioMidwest Hotbed campaign is a great way to help connect the various parts of the industry.”
