ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Market research firm BioInformatics, LLC (http://www.gene2drug.com) was again selected by The Scientist (http://www.the-scientist.com) to tabulate voting for the 2005 Life Science Industry Awards. Winners of the prestigious awards will be announced at a reception on April 3 at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel. In addition to The Scientist, the awards are supported by industry portal The Life Science Executive Exchange (http://www.lifescienceexec.com) and The Science Advisory Board (http://www.scienceboard.net).
"Unlike other industry awards, actual users of scientific products choose the winning companies based on their real-world performance in the lab," said Bill Kelly, President of BioInformatics, LLC. "Our role is to ensure that the voting is unbiased, statistically valid and reflects a true picture of which companies are best meeting the needs of life science researchers -- we're honored to have been chosen by The Scientist again."
The awards recognize those suppliers with the best solution in 12 separate product categories as well as suppliers that are "best-in-class" in six customer communications and support categories, including: print catalog, customer service, technical support, Web site, sales representatives and print advertisements. The Scientist tasked BioInformatics, LLC with developing a survey methodology that would ensure complete accuracy and fairness in selecting the winners. BioInformatics created a 34-question survey that went beyond "top-of-mind" responses and probed for the elements that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. More than 2,400 scientists from around the world cast their votes in early January.
To honor these top companies for their outstanding performance and present the awards to the winners an evening cocktail reception will be held on April 3rd at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Hotel from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Noted science journalist, Ira Flatow of National Public Radio's Science Friday will again be Master of Ceremonies and this year's keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Terry Sharrer, Curator, Health Sciences, at the National Museum of American History of the Smithsonian Institution.
