Tokyo, Aug 3, 2006 (JCN) - Banyu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. obtained manufacturing approval for Fosamax Plus D - generic name: aledronate sodium - on July 26. Fosamax was first launched in Japan in 2001 and since has proven to be an effective drug for patients of post menopausal osteoporosis, indicating an efficiency reduction of cells that cause bone loss.
