WorldCare Clinical, Inc. Rounds Out Operational Management Team With Key New Biostatistics Hire

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2009) - WorldCare Clinical, LLC (WCC), a leading imaging CRO for clinical trials in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, today announced that Dr. Asli Memisoglu has joined the organization as director of biostatistics and data management. In this new position, Memisoglu will oversee the development of image analysis performance metrics, statistical design and database management between WCC's project managers, its sponsors and independent reviewers.

An accomplished biostatistician and scientist with more than ten years of statistical analysis and programming experience, Memisoglu will bring her expertise in imaging trial design and analysis to WCC. She will be responsible for all statistical analysis and database development within WCC, as well as assisting in the development of imaging charters and contributing to WCC's enhanced reader training, testing and monitoring services.

WCC Managing Director Michael O'Brien says, "Despite the economic climate, WCC is experiencing a growth spurt. Asli's hiring is the culmination of our plan to build an experienced team of operational experts who understand both the regulatory requirement and science behind imaging trials. Prior to joining WCC, Memisoglu served as associate director of biostatistics at Acusphere Inc., Clinical Research, where she managed all biostatistical and data management aspects of Acusphere's clinical trials. Memisoglu also held the position of medical communications scientist while at Acusphere. Previous to Acusphere, she was a biostatician and lead pharmacoeconomist/outcomes scientist for Abt Associates' Health Economics and Quality of Life Evaluation Services, designing and implementing outcomes research projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

She currently serves on the board of directors for the Boston Chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association and is co-director of Women in Science Affinity Group. She is also a long-time member of the steering committee for the Boston Area SAS® Users Group and serves as its SAS liaison. Memisoglu holds a doctorate in molecular science and cellular toxicology and a master's degree in epidemiology from Harvard University, and a bachelor's degree in biology from Tufts University.
