Elo Life Systems Launches Australian Subsidiary in Queensland

Elo Life Systems, a subsidiary of Precision BioSciences, uses ARCUS genome editing technology and multi-crop expertise to potentially develop and commercialize innovative agricultural and food products that support human health. With QUT, Elo will create novel plant-based protein alternatives and other nutritionally enhanced crops that bolster Australia’s position as a leading global exporter of high protein crops, or “pulses.”

Dr. Arun Sharma, QUT’s Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Commercialization, hailed the event as a momentous occasion on QUT’s path to be a solutions-focused ecosystem for translational sciences. Drs. Arun Sharma and Fayaz Khazi, CEO of Elo Life Systems, performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Professor Sagadevan Mundree, Director of Centre for Tropical Crops and Biocommodities, and several QUT and Queensland government dignitaries were in attendance. Elo-Australia’s Resident Director Mario Pennisi, a leader in the Australian life sciences industry, served as the Master of Ceremony.
