Dayton Medical Device Firm, NovoSource Wins FDA Clearance

NovoSource, a Dayton-based developer and manufacturer of orthopedic implant systems, has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its NovoKnee knee replacement product, the company said Tuesday. The product is used by orthopedic surgeons to perform “total joint replacement procedures for the knee,” the company said. The “NovoKnee” is intended to make available a lower-priced implant, reducing the costs of care for orthopedic patients. Harold Linville, a veteran of and retiree from Innovative Medical Device Solutions in Vandalia, co-founded the company.
