Starting in August, a driver to be downloaded from the HealthVault site and a USB cable, available for purchase for $9.99 at www.homedics.com, will transfer all information obtained from a HoMedics blood pressure monitor to a user's HealthVault account. With this tool, consumers will have the ability to easily collect, store and share health information with family members and participating healthcare providers through private, secure data storage and a sharing system that will enable seamless exchange between hundreds of different health applications and devices.
"As medical costs continue to skyrocket, the demand for quality, user friendly self-care products that save time and money, offer convenience and deliver superior wellness benefits has never been more important," said Barb Westfield, HoMedics' Chief Marketing Officer. "Aligning with HealthVault demonstrates another way HoMedics is committed to proactively addressing consumer needs through innovation, technology and affordability."
"Organizations such as HoMedics have played a significant role in the development of the devices that connect with HealthVault," said David Cerino, General Manager, Microsoft Health Solutions Group. "Through our cooperative efforts, we will empower consumers to make informed choices regarding their health by putting them in control of their health information."
