The AlloCares Health Clinic provides services to improve employee health, reduce costs of healthcare

CENTENNIAL, Colo., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AlloSource (allosource.org), one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of skin, bone and soft tissue allografts for use in surgical procedures and the world’s largest processor of cellular bone allografts, today announced the launch of a new onsite health clinic. AlloSource employees and their dependents now have access to the AlloCares Health Clinic, operated by CareHere, as part of the company’s medical plan and wellness program.

The AlloCares Health Clinic was established as part of the AlloSource wellness program in response to increasing healthcare costs, which impact both the company and its employees. Patients and dependents will have access to a broad scope of services, including physical exams, disease management, repetitive motion therapy and personalized health coaching. The onsite location will save employees time because they will no longer have to leave work or use time off to go to doctor appointments. In addition, providing healthcare directly allows AlloSource to reduce the costs associated with multiple parties providing care. The AlloCares Health Clinic is one more step toward the company goal of having the healthiest possible workforce, and will allow AlloSource to take on more of the healthcare costs for its employees.

“Employee wellness is a top priority for AlloSource, as it promotes better employee engagement and more productivity to do the great things that we do,” said Thomas Cycyota, AlloSource president and CEO. “Like many companies and individuals, we are concerned about how to pay for healthcare these days. We made the choice to take this bold step that we believe will make a big difference for our employees and will allow us to offer quality, affordable care in a very efficient manner.”

With just over 400 employees, it is noteworthy that AlloSource now offers on onsite wellness facility, which is usually only done by much larger organizations. The clinic will be open five days a week, for both well and sick visits, and will provide lab and pharmacy services onsite.

The AlloSource wellness program provides opportunities that engage employees and their families to maximize their health, heightening their personal performance. It uses a point system allowing workers to earn money for their health savings accounts, along with insurance premium discounts and prizes. AlloSource’s other wellness initiatives include a community garden, annual biometric screenings, free employee flu shots, a monthly wellness newsletter, subsidized health club memberships, a smoking cessation program and participation in events like Bike to Work Day and Race for the Cure.
