Akorn, Inc. Receives FDA Approval To Put Inapsine Nausea Treatment Back On Market

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 2006--Akorn, Inc. (AMEX:AKN - News) today announced that it has received a supplemental new drug application (NDA) approval for Inapsine ® injection. Akorn is the NDA holder of this drug product. Inapsine ® has been off the market since 2001 due to compliance issues associated with the Decatur manufacturing facility. Akorn recently was awarded the Premier Purchasing Partners, LP contract for Inapsine ®. Premier is one of the nation’s largest hospital group purchasing organizations. The award is effective July 1, 2006.
