LAKE FOREST, Calif., Dec. 26, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) (PRIMEZONE) -- Trimedyne, Inc. (OTCBB:TMED) today reported a profit of $97,000 or $0.01 per share on revenues of $6,237,000 for its fiscal year ended September 30, 2006, compared to a profit of $186,000 or $0.01 per share on revenues of $6,482,000 for the prior year. The small decline in revenues in current year was due to decreased unit sales of lasers in our spinal business. The decline in profit in the current year was due to the decrease in unit sales of spinal lasers and a higher cost of goods, which was partially offset by an increase in other income, primarily royalties from Lumenis, Ltd.
