TheraSim Medical Technologies PLC is officially registered in Ethiopia and located in the Bole international business district. TheraSim’s strategic decision to open the Africa location comes after over six years of work in Africa, providing medical simulations to over 35 African countries. Mathias Markonnen, Africa Operations Manager, who comes to TheraSim with over ten years of telecommunication, training, and technology experience, will head the African headquarters. “Mathias’s IT and training experience are a perfect fit with TheraSim’s mission to build clinical capacity in Africa through computer-based simulation training” commented David Hadden, TheraSim CEO.
In addition to continuing the mission in Africa, the new location is “ideal to service our East Africa and Middle East customers,” says Gordon Cervenka, President and COO. To date we have trained thousands of doctors in 35 African countries using a combination of online and computer-based simulation training. We have our software installed in 85 sites in Ethiopia and soon it will be installed in three Kenyan universities.
