GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) today announced the hiring of two medical technologists and a scientist to support the expansion of the laboratory’s clinical test menu and genomics services offerings.
-- Jin He, who previously served as a senior lab technician at the University of Kentucky’s Department of Clinical Science, has been hired as a scientist. She received her bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine from Anhui Medical University, located in the Anhui Province of China. She received her master’s in molecular and cell biology from the University of Kentucky. In addition to her clinical experience, He’s work has been published in Molecular and Cellular Biology, an official publication of the American Society for Microbiology.
-- Kyle Ingersoll previously served as a molecular technologist at Spectrum Health. Prior to Spectrum Health, he served as a research technician at Calvin College. Ingersoll began his career at Assay Design, where he served as an intern and junior scientist before being promoted to product support scientist. Ingersoll received his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Ferris State University. He is a board-certified laboratory specialist in molecular biology.
-- Anna VanAgtmael previously worked as a medical technologist at Metro Health Hospital. In this role, she served as a generalist in the laboratory. VanAgtmael received a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science from Grand Valley State University. While attending Michigan State, she also served as a laboratory technician. She too is a board-certified medical technologist.
In addition to increasing its staff size to a total of eight, the CMM has also recently doubled its laboratory space from ~1,600 square feet to ~3,300 square feet on the top floor of the GVSU Cook-DeVos Center for Health Studies in downtown Grand Rapids. The CMM is now the largest tenant in the building.
