A new study of medtech leaders in Minnesota has found that the industry faces a “dire future” if the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not change the way it reviews products for commercialization. The study, conducted on behalf of the Medtech Resource Alliance and Minnesota Medical Device Alliance, found that a majority of businesses, 64 percent, believe strict federal policies currently in place are putting hundreds of thousands of medical devices jobs at risk, with another 85 percent saying that the regulatory environment is negatively affecting their ability to create key positions while hurting future investments
