MEDICAL professionals are being offered the chance to improve patient safety thanks to a series of webinars delivered by biomedical testing experts at Rigel Medical.

The first free webinar takes place on Friday, October 26 and will cover the basic principles of electrosurgical testing and includes a Q&A session.

Further sessions, due to take place throughout November and December, will cover a range of topics including vital signs, defibrillator and infusion pumps – and how to ensure they’re correctly tested.

Michael Walton, senior application engineer at Rigel Medical, said: “Healthcare staff works hard saving lives 365 days a year – and clinical engineers provide essential support ensuring medical equipment functions correctly.

“Malfunctioning medical equipment can cause serious problems in healthcare organisations so it’s crucial that regular testing is performed to ensure its fit for purpose.”

The webinars are just the latest training offering from Rigel, which works closely with medical professionals to educate and train them on best practice in biomedical testing.

Michael continued: “Rigel has a longstanding commitment to training and upskilling our customers to help them make the most of their devices.

“These new webinars are a fantastic opportunity for medical professionals to learn more about biomedical testers and put questions to our expert team.”

Rigel, which has bases in the UK, North America and SE Asia, is one of the longest established names in the medical industry, dating back to the 1970s when it created the world’s first electrical safety analyser.

It now employs 160 people worldwide as well as supporting a global network of distributors across Europe, USA, the Middle East and ASEAN region.
