Research Triangle Park, NC (PRWEB) May 18, 2011 -- Innovalyst, a life sciences consulting firm, today announced the completion of the first phase of the Global Life Science Innovation Program with Invest Northern Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) is part of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment which provides strong government support for businesses by delivering the Government’s economic development strategies in Northern Ireland. In the course of this two-year engagement, Innovalyst’s efforts have led to significant direct investment to date and promise to deliver millions of pounds in R&D collaborations, licenses, and spinouts between Northern Ireland and organizations in the U.S. and Europe.

Phase One, which started in July, 2009 included advising and assisting various university, medical institutions, and businesses to accelerate the asset commercialization process to stimulate foreign direct investment in the Northern Ireland life sciences community. Innovalyst screened and prioritized over 180 new technologies, helping to catalyze 11 R&D co-development or licensing agreements between pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
