SAN DIEGO, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Recros Medica, Inc. announced today it will showcase its Rotational Fractional Resection (RFR) platform at the 2018 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Annual Meeting. This investigational technology which is being developed as the Nuvellus™ Focal Contouring System for use by dermatologists, plastic surgeons and other aesthetic physicians to reduce skin laxity and remove fat for focal aesthetic contouring as a minimally invasive surgical procedure. The company will display at booth #538.
RFR is a novel alternative to skin contouring approaches such as traditional surgery, liposuction, energy-based devices, injectable chemical lipolytic agents, and cryolipolysis.
The company will display Poster #119: Efficacy, Safety and Subject Satisfaction Using Rotational Fractional Resection for the Improvement of Submental Contouring, in the Grand Foyer at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. The poster details interim data from CONFORM, a prospective, multi-center study which shows that at 30 days, 84% of subjects were satisfied with their neck and jawline appearance and 97% of subjects were likely to recommend the procedure to others.
“The most exciting class of emerging aesthetic devices today is that of the fractional skin resection and fat removal devices. Among those making this come to fruition is Recros Medica,” said Jill Waibel, MD, medical director of the Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute, and a CONFORM clinical investigator. “RFR adds the ability to simultaneously remove fat – while reducing skin laxity – to the cosmetic armamentarium without the down time of traditional liposuction or face lifts. I am excited to see where this journey leads and how the cosmetic landscape will change with this new technology in its tool belt.”
The Nuvellus RFR system comprises an integrated console, a reusable surgical handpiece and differentiated consumable attachments; and is expected to launch in late 2019.
