Georgia biotech MiMedx Group said this week that it will add up to 150 jobs over the next two years as it adds onto its existing headquarters in Marietta, the company told analysts this week.
The company, which focuses on regenerative biomaterials, such as those used in wound care, did not say what are of its business will see new hiring. But it did say its wound care unit will see most of the new emphasis on expanding.
As part of the expansion, MiMedx will add another 25,600 square feet at 1828 West Oak Parkway in Marietta. With that expansion will come significant job growth, as the company attempts to parlay its fourth quarter revenue of almost $40 million into larger markets and smarter products.
In the recent real estate deal, Nicolai Schwarzkopf and Kevin Driver of Stream Realty represented building ownership, while Greg Baxendale of Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. and Doug Eidson of Avison Young represented MiMedx, reported the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Chairman and CEO Pete Petit leads MiMedx. The company say net income of $3.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals made news last week when it terminated leases on three properties in Cambridge, Mass, that freed up 313,000 square feet of space in the Genetown area. The company has spent a significant part of 2014 consolidating its operations on the South Boston waterfront, leasing 291,000 square feet of office space at West Kendall Street in Cambridge’s Kendall Square.
