Lawmaker Asks FDA to Investigate GlaxoSmithKline on Paxil Suicide Risk

First Word -- US lawmaker Charles Grassley asked the FDA to closely examine whether GlaxoSmithKline concealed data connecting its antidepressant Paxil (paroxetine) to an elevated risk of suicide. Grassley’s request follows a report by Harvard psychiatrist Joseph Glenmullen that was recently unsealed by a US court, alleging that GlaxoSmithKline “hid” knowledge of the suicide risk.
