Irish-owned biotechnology group Alltech plans to invest $30m in three new facilities over the next year.
The company has just begun work on a new $10m production facility in Caritiba in the south of Brazil.
And this week it opened a $5m sales and marketing headquarters in Stellenbosch in South Africa.
Alltech says it has also set aside $15m for a third phase of investment earmarked for a plant in the Northern hemisphere.
It is looking at sites in the US and Western Europe, including the Republic and Northern Ireland.
The US-based biotech's new 20,000 sq m plant in Brazil will take its total manufacturing spend to $25m in the country. Its new Latin American plant will produce yeast for Alltech's animal feed and food products.
