IBC Life Sciences Announces the 2010 Formulation Strategies for Protein Therapeutics Conference

WESTBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2010) - The 10th Annual IBC Formulation Strategies for Protein Therapeutics conference continues its tradition of offering its mix of cutting edge science, industry best practices and problem solving case studies. The conference will take place on September 21-23, 2010 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

“The Formulation function has a critical role in the development of novel protein therapeutic products, and this meeting has become a ‘must attend’ annual conference for every major protein formulation group in the world,” said IBC Life Sciences’ Program Director, Kent Simmons.

Attendees of this meeting will learn about next generation approaches to formulation and learn how colleagues from around the world are employing technology and new knowledge of protein behavior to optimize and accelerate formulation development.

Keynote addresses include:

  • Particles, Particles Everywhere: Causes, Consequences and Control of Aggregates and Subvisible Particles in Therapeutic Protein Formulations by John F. Carpenter, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado.
  • Holistic QbD: The Integration of Formulation, Process Development and Process Validation by Sherry Martin Moe, Ph.D., Director, Late Stage Pharmaceutical and Processing Development, at Genentech, Inc.
  • NIST Perspective on Standards and GMP Processes for Subvisible Particles in Protein Therapeutics by Dean Ripple, Ph.D., Group Leader, Process Measurements Division, Process Sensing Group, at National Institute of Standards and Technology
  • Modeling Protein Degradation Processes and the Development of Rational Approaches to Stabilization by Bernhardt Trout, Ph.D., Professor, Chemical Engineering, at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Held concurrently with IBC’s BioProcess International™ Conference and Exhibition, September 20-24, 2010 Formulation attendees have access to the BPI exhibit floor, posters, keynotes and social functions, giving them the opportunity to visit with more than 125 suppliers of bioprocess technology and services and network with over 1,500 colleagues and industry leaders.
