Applicants MUST meet ALL the requirements:
• Must be a Russian citizen or permanent resident.
• Must have a PhD (???????? ????) at the time of application. Applicants may hold an MD in addition to the PhD, but an MD degree alone does NOT make one eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have no more than 5 years of relevant research experience since completion of their last doctoral degree.
• Applicants already working in the United States are not eligible.
• Individuals who previously trained at the NIH are not eligible (excludes short-term visits and training courses).
• Must have a written commitment of support from an investigator in the NIH IRP (see sample letter of support at:
http://www.fnih.org/content/us-russia-collaboration-biomedical-sciences-nih-visiting-fellows-program.).
The Program aims to increase U.S.-Russia collaborations in health research and is supported in part through the U.S.-Russia Collaboration in the Biomedical Sciences, a public-private partnership of the Foundation for the NIH.
