CALGARY, Sept. 27 /CNW/ - Eyelogic Systems Inc. has been notified by
Health Canada that the Eyelogic System, used for automated sight testing, is a
Class II medical device and thus has been instructed not to sell the system in
Canada until the Class II certification has been obtained. Previously, the
Company was of the understanding that the Eyelogic System was a Class I
medical device. The Company is in communication with Health Canada to explore
the rationale for this new classification. The Class II notification is an
industry wide change and it is the Company's understanding that all
competitors will ultimately have to comply with this classification.
