UAE, 30 October 2018 - Dubai Government Workshop (DGW), in cooperation with American Hospital Dubai, has successfully organized ‘Breast cancer risk and prevention methods,’ an awareness campaign being held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is celebrated in October each year. The campaign falls in line with DGW’s continuing efforts to enhance its contribution to the community--increasing social awareness and strengthening the preventive aspect based on social responsibility. The campaign also aims to provide the support needed in raising awareness about the risk of breast cancer and urged its staff to conduct periodic medical examination.
H.E. Humaid Sultan Al Mutaiwee, Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) CEO, said, “The DGW has successfully organized this awareness campaign on breast cancer in partnership with American Hospital Dubai to complement our continuing health campaign.”
He further added that the DGW remains steadfast in its commitment to support the national agenda and UAE Vision 2021, wherein the health of the UAE society is listed as a strategic objective. The DGW’s mission is to support community responsibility and make it more aware about the risks and issues related to their health.
The awareness campaign included a series of lectures addressed to female employees covering topics like early detection to prevent this disease and its importance in doubling the chances of prevention and reducing the risk of spreading in the body. The campaign also included a number of educational seminars on breast cancer, its symptoms and how to conduct a home inspection periodically and accurately.
