CSA Medical, Inc. Announces Expanded Team Due to Growth Over Past Year

BALTIMORE, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- CSA Medical, Inc. announced today the expansion of its staff and management. These new positions and promotions reflect the company's commitment to build and maintain a strong team to support a rapidly growing customer base.

CSA Medical has seen significant growth since the CSA System, a cryogenic platform that treats unwanted tissue, came on the market in mid 2007. "We have exceeded our sales projections and now have over 50 units placed in prestigious medical institutions throughout the country," said Steve Schaefer, President of CSA Medical, Inc. "What that means is more than 600 patients have benefited from this powerful technology that has thus far treated unwanted tissue in the GI tract in a nearly pain-free way." Sales and Marketing: Industry expert, Ric Hughen leads a rapidly expanding sales and marketing team. The sales team has added two new representatives, Arlinda Graves covering Southern California and Anthony Malatesta covering the Mid-Atlantic region. A former CSA Medical sales representative, Michael Breault, has been promoted to National Product Manager. He will be responsible for ensuring growth in the number of CryoSpray Ablation procedures performed by institutions and physicians currently using the CSA System. Reporting to Michael will be a new employee, Patrick Clary, as National Product Specialist. Patrick will focus efforts on driving patient referrals to treating centers throughout the U.S.

Finally, Rosa Abraham was hired as Product Manager for CSA Medical. This marketing role will support efforts of the sales and clinical team by creating materials that understand the needs of customers, the intricacies of the technology and the message to convey.

Scientific Research: Ethel Rubin, Ph.D., has been named Chief Science Officer of CSA Medical, Inc. A Hopkins-trained translational oncology researcher, she will direct CSA Medical's clinical and scientific research activities into such areas as the immune effects and anti-metastatic properties of cryotherapy.

Clinical Operations: Directly responsible for establishing, growing and managing a team of field clinical specialists is the recently appointed Cindy Lowder, Vice President of Clinical Operations. In addition to managing a national team of clinical specialists, Ms. Lowder oversees CSA Medical's Clinical Trials Division, as well as the clinical training and certification program.

Karen McKenzie, CSA Medical's former Clinical Trials Coordinator, has been promoted to Clinical Trials Project Manager. She is responsible for all aspects of clinical study planning and execution and is currently overseeing a wide array of post-market single and multi-center studies.

Product Development: Ron Burr was appointed Chief Technology Officer for CSA Medical. As chief technology officer he will continue to drive advances in CSA Medical's patented technology platform. Reporting to Ron is the newly hired Colleen Kistler, Director of Regulatory and Quality Assurance. Colleen manages the regulatory and quality systems for CSA Medical.
