CNS Response Helps Support Military Families by Sponsoring Suicide Prevention Public Service Announcements

ALISO VIEJO, CA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2011) -

CNS Response, Inc. (OTCBB: CNSO) is helping to launch a new series of suicide prevention Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to support military personnel and their families. The PSAs, which feature celebrities including Cher, Tim Daly, Omar Epps, Alyssa Milano, NBA All Star Rick Fox and others, were created through the collaborative efforts of Blue Star Families, The Creative Coalition, and other organizations.

“As a Marine and now as a civilian, I have seen the impacts of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health disorders on individuals and on their families,” said retired U.S. Marine Colonel Stewart Navarre, CNS Response vice president, customer relations, and head of the company’s military sector efforts. “We are honored to support these PSAs to help raise awareness of mental health issues, as well as reminding military families, veterans and service members that there are resources that can help them.”

According to Mark D. Smith, an Army veteran and the executive director for Blue Star Families, “The suicide rate among our soldiers and their families is at a record high. As Americans, we have an obligation and responsibility to take care of the men and women who volunteer to sacrifice for our country. We hope this public service campaign will help military families realize they have somewhere to turn for confidential help.”

Kathy Roth-Douquet, military spouse and co-founder of Blue Star Families, noted, “Our military service members and their families are resilient and strong, but we want them to know that they don’t need to needlessly suffer through depression and anxiety. Asking for help when you need it is a sign of strength, not weakness.”

About CNS Response
CNS Response provides reference data and analytic tools for clinicians and researchers, using a novel neurometric database called Referenced-EEG® (rEEG). Developed by physicians as a platform to exchange objective, neurophysiology-based data on medication outcomes, physicians using rEEG in clinical trials have consistently reduced their use of trial and error pharmacotherapy.

In a study published in the January 2011 issue of the Journal of Psychiatric Research, physicians who used information from the rEEG database achieved a 65 percent success rate in treating patients with depression, compared to a 39 percent success rate with the control group. Those results were even more significant because the subjects in the study, selected through a randomized process, had failed an average of four previous treatments for depression.
