This session will explore the use of mobile devices for medical imaging, including existing mobile applications and devices, security requirements and future use of mobile technology. A panel of supplier representatives will discuss these topics and answer questions from attendees.
“We expect dramatic growth in the use of mobile devices for medical imaging applications,” said Diana L. Nole, President, Digital Medical Solutions, Carestream. “Studies being conducted on the quality of X-ray images viewed on mobile devices are producing favorable results. By getting images and reports into the hands of clinicians and referring physicians who are on the move, we can help enhance patient care.”

Carestream also will participate in an Applied Learning vendor panel entitled, “Maximizing the Potential of Commercial Products for Image Sharing,” on Thursday, June 7, from 3:45-5:15 pm. This session is chaired by Bradley J. Erickson, MD, PhD, FSIIM, of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., and Wyatt M. Tellis, PhD, University of California, San Francisco.
Session topics include: limitations of image exchange using CD/DVD formats and the benefits of cloud-based solutions; emergence of personal electronic health records and their impact on the process of image exchange; and how to meet requirements for the new RSNA Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) project.
