WARSAW, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Biomet, Inc. announced today preliminary, unaudited net sales for the third quarter of fiscal year 2008, which ended on February 29, 2008. Net sales for the third quarter increased 14% to $603.1 million. Excluding the effect of foreign currency, which increased sales by approximately $25 million, and the impact of instrument sales, net sales increased 9%. Sales in the United States increased 10% during the third quarter, while international sales increased 8% on a constant currency basis.
