Talencio, LLC Release: Paula Norbom Among 24 Women to Watch in 2012

Minneapolis -- May 23, 2012 -- Paula J. Norbom, founder and president of Talencio, LLC, has been named one of 24 Women to Watch in 2012 by the Minneapolis -St. Paul Business Journal. Talencio matches experienced, contract and direct-hire professionals with the talent needs of life sciences companies.

Since founding Talencio in 2008, Norbom has built a “library” of more than 2,000 highly qualified medical device, pharmaceutical, bio-tech and healthcare professionals representing a wide range of disciplines -- from science and engineering to quality assurance, regulatory and strategic support. Drawing on this talent bank, she has helped more than 35 medical device clients across the U.S. and Canada gain quick access to the specialized, qualified talent they need.

Norbom also has long been an active leader in Twin Cities’ professional and civicorganizations. A board member of the Twin Cities chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) for six years, she chaired the organization in 2009-2010, launching initiatives that resulted in the fastest chapter growth in the U.S.

For 20 years, she has been a board member, and member, of P.E.O Chapter A, an organization that provides financial support to advance women through education. Norbom also has been active in the Women’s Health Leadership Trust, an organization thatsupports healthcare leaders, and as a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is currently a small business adviser through the University of Minnesota Growth Accelerator Program.

“I am honored to be recognized among this year’s 25 Women to Watch,” said Norbom. “I am fortunate to work in a sector that I love -- a sector known for its energy, integrity and compassion -- and for the great people it attracts. Talencio is thriving because we are able to connect people with people -- the first step in making great things happen.”

Before founding Talencio, Norbom was a financial leader at four start-up and emerging growthmedical device companies. She raised $170 million in debt, venture and public financing and was instrumental in the successful commercialization of peripheral vascular devices and sleep and spinal implants.

With her entrepreneurial depth and an extensive medical device network, Norbom saw aneed in the life sciences community for experienced, contract and direct-hire talent to help fuel innovation and growth. “At the same time, I saw more and more life science professionalsseeking the variety and excitement of contract assignments,” says Norbom. These insights led her to form Talencio.

Norbom is a 1984 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. She resides in Minneapolis with her husband and three sons.
