SwipeSense Scores $9.7 Million

Chicago startup SwipeSense, which provides hand-sanitizing tools for hospitals, has raised $9.7 million in funding, the company said in an SEC filing Wednesday.

Founded in 2011 by Yuri Malina and Mert Iseri, Northwestern University students at the time, SwipeSense makes a product that allows hospital workers to sanitize their hands. It also tracks usage data for compliance purposes, with the aim to reduce infections in hospitals.
