MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 22, 2004) - Sonomax Hearing Healthcare Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SHH), inventor and developer of the innovative SonoCustom in-the-ear expansion technology, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Gennum Corporation (TSX:GND), a Canadian high-technology firm, formalizing their previously-announced collaboration which combines expertise and resources to create and market new and improved products for the hearing healthcare and communications industries. The agreement between Gennum and Sonomax contains provisions concerning: Gennum exclusivity with respect to certain products; ownership of intellectual property; adaptation and development criteria; supply undertakings; termination rights; and an irrevocable commitment by Gennum to purchase certain volumes of Sonomax platform products over an 18-month period, which Gennum will market through its established worldwide network in close collaboration with Sonomax. The agreement also contemplates the two companies entering into a definitive agreement.
