Sionix Corporation Receives Additional Patent Award, Extends Its Intellectual Property Leadership in Dissolved Air Flotation

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 22, 2013) - Sionix Corporation (OTCQB: SINX) announced today that it has received a Notice of Allowance for U.S. Patent Application Number 13/029,970 -- “Dissolved Air Flotation System with Bubble Separation System and Method of Use.” Sionix has now secured six U.S. patents related to its dissolved air floatation (“DAF”) technology that are active, and one provisional patent dealing with water treatment. In addition, Sionix has three DAF patent applications at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

The systems and methods covered by Sionix’ latest patent provide for increased air saturation and thus overall increase in efficiency for the operation of the Sionix DAF system.

The Sionix dissolved air flotation equipment is used to clarify water, and may be used for removing suspended solids, organisms, and dissolved solids with the aid of a flocculent. The technology can effectively treat waste water from industrial, municipal, and various agricultural sources, as well as recycling water from oil and gas fracking operations.

In its prior U.S. Patents Nos. 6,921,478, 7,767,080, and 7,033,495, Sionix disclosed a dissolved air flotation system comprising a flocculation tank, a flotation tank, a white water injection system, a skimmer, and a conveyor belt for carrying off the float after it has been skimmed, and a clean water outlet at the bottom of the flotation tank. Experience with the device described in its prior patents has led to various improvements reflected in this latest patent.

Sionix will continue to increase its intellectual property assets through various patent applications in the future with unique proprietary approaches to DAF, and other water treatment technologies.
