Proliant Biologicals announced today that it is now manufacturing LiPro(R) on a large scale, and will expand its product portfolio to include several related serum-free cell culture media components. (LiPro(R) is Proliant's economical alternative to Ex-Cyte(R) lipoprotein-based growth media supplement from Serologicals(R) Corporation(a).) In addition to LiPro(R), Proliant also announced the broader availability of a product tentatively tradenamed Albuferrin(TM), a unique, proprietary albumin-transferrin hybrid. At the same time Proliant will introduce a new version of its industry-leading Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA), currently designated "Biotechnology Grade," that is formulated specifically for cell culture applications.
