“For more than three decades, Dave has been a valued member of our executive team and much the way the Midland campus looks and operates is due to his leadership,” said Terence F. Moore, president of MidMichigan Health. “We thank him for all his efforts and wish him much happiness in his decision to retire.”

Schmidt also announced that Richard M. Reynolds will become president of MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland and executive vice president of MidMichigan Health on July 1. Reynolds will report to Moore at the corporate level and to the board of the Medical Center in Midland.

Reynolds joined MidMichigan in 1980. He is currently senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer of MidMichigan Health. “I have tremendous confidence in Rick’s ability to lead the Medical Center,” said Moore. “He is nationally recognized for his financial abilities and brings with that skill both an abundance of management talent and a history of leadership with MidMichigan. I am proud to be associated with him at both the Medical Center and health system levels.”

The reorganization also includes promotions to a senior management level effective in July for Francine M. Padgett, Donna J. Rapp, Brian L. Rodgers and Gregory H. Rogers.

Padgett will become senior vice president and secretary of MidMichigan Health and MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland in addition to her responsibilities as corporate controller. She has worked at MidMichigan Health since 1990. Previously she was a senior manager at Deloitte and Touche. She will report to Moore.

Rapp will become senior vice president of MidMichigan Health. She will continue to oversee the marketing, public relations, fund development, volunteer services, physician relations and community education activities throughout MidMichigan Health. She is also responsible for the operations of MidMichigan Health Park-Mt. Pleasant. Rapp is a 27-year employee of MidMichigan. She will report to Moore.

Brian Rodgers will become senior vice president of MidMichigan Health and will continue to serve as president of MidMichigan Health Network. In addition, he will oversee the operations of MidMichigan Physicians Group of which Al Adan is president. Both Rodgers and Adan have been MidMichigan employees for 27 years. Rodgers will report to Reynolds.

Gregory Rogers will become senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer of MidMichigan Health, the position formerly held by Reynolds. He will also act as senior vice president and treasurer of MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Rogers is a 23-year employee of MidMichigan. He will report to Moore.

Other changes within MidMichigan Health include the promotion of Mark Bush to vice president of MidMichigan Health. Bush will assume responsibilities for MidMichigan Gladwin Pines and MidMichigan Stratford Village nursing homes in addition to his role as executive vice president of MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin. Bush has been a MidMichigan employee for 18 years. He will report to Moore and the board of Gladwin’s Medical Center.

Reece retires from MidMichigan with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. “I have had the gift of being able to raise a family in the community where I was born while achieving my career objectives with MidMichigan. That is a rare opportunity that few receive, and my family and I value it deeply,” said Reece.

Reynolds moves into his new positions with confidence in the future. “Everyone in health care recognizes the challenges of maintaining quality care in an environment where we face increased demands and fewer resources,” he said. “Nevertheless, I have confidence in the talents and skills of our medical staff, employees and volunteers. I look forward to working together with them to maintain MidMichigan’s position as a premier provider of health care to the region.”

The reorganization is a logical one from Moore’s perspective. “This is a natural transition in leadership that recognizes truly outstanding people based on their record of success with MidMichigan,” he said. “We are all grateful for the continued leadership and support of our board members who are so generous with their counsel. They join me in strongly supporting these changes.”
