Clermont-Ferrand, France, 18 January 2008 – METabolic EXplorer, an industrial biotechnology company focused on the biomanufacturing of bulk chemicals using “green chemistry”, today announced that a licensed patent has been granted in the U.S.A. Patent No US 7,267,972 covering a method for producing PDO using crude glycerine, a by product of the bio diesel supply chain. A patent covering this PDO production method has already been granted in Europe.
