Marco Romano, MD Joins Chiltern International Ltd. as Medical Director, Europe

LONDON, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Chiltern, a leading global clinical research organization, has announced the appointment of Marco Romano, MD to the role of Medical Director, Europe. Dr. Romano has over 19 years of experience in both the Pharmaceutical and CRO Industries where he held executive-level positions, most recently with a large USA based CRO.

Dr. Romano earned his MD at the University of Genova, Italy, and he also holds a post-graduate degree in Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of Genova and a post-graduate degree in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Milan. Dr Romano co-authored several scientific papers on mutagenesis and cancerogenesis, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of chemical compounds and glutathione metabolism.

Dr. Romano will be located in the company’s Milan office. He will be responsible for the European medical department as well as heading one of our Global Therapeutic Area Teams. Dr. Romano will also focus on providing medical and scientific expertise to sponsors regarding product development and product life cycle management strategies. Dr Romano is closely connected to the Italian Pharmaceutical sector and will soon be President of SSFA, an influential medical association in Italy. His extensive experience and network will lead to the further development of our Italian operations.
