BOSTON, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Heart Rhythm 2015, the Heart Rhythm Society’s (HRS) 36th Annual Scientific Sessions and this year’s leading conference on cardiac arrhythmias, commences at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This year’s meeting will focus on the power of interactivity how networks, both technological and personal, are connecting to propel the science, discovery, and innovation of the electrophysiology (EP) field.
Heart Rhythm 2015 continues to attract the world’s most renowned experts and includes more than 8,500 attendees, 250 educational sessions and 130 exhibitors showcasing innovative products and services. The meeting focuses on the latest in science, education and technology and features new, interactive learning formats and opportunities for networking.

HRS highlights the following special events and sessions during Heart Rhythm 2015:
- Opening Plenary Session: On Wednesday, May 13 at 4:15 p.m., Steven Johnson, a leading authority on today’s interdisciplinary, collaborative, open-minded approach to innovation, will present the keynote address titled “How We Got To Now An Optimistic Vision of Progress and Innovation.”
- 3D Body Computing: Throughout the week at Booth #535, attendees have the opportunity to learn how digital health is impacting medicine with the convergence of sophisticated diagnostic sensors, innovative mobile applications, and a powerful technology infrastructure.
- Communities of Practice: For the first time, HRS launches three pilot Communities of Practice, which involves members coming together to engage, network, and share knowledge and best practices with colleagues in similar areas of practice or common professional interest through a variety of platforms. - 30 Year Anniversary of the Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) in Clinical Practice: On Thursday, May 14 at 10:30 a.m., a session will take place to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the FDA approval of the ICD for treatment and prevention of sudden death. This session will focus on the early clinical experience and research that led to the broad adoption of the revolutionary therapy.
