ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The fourth annual Many Faces of Hope Women's Cancer Survivorship Conference will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Friday, October 8, 2004 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., participants can attend an additional session titled "What You Need to Know About Prostate Cancer". Both events will be held at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Minneapolis.
The Many Faces of Hope Women's Cancer Survivorship Conference, sponsored by HealthEast Cancer Care, will offer a day of education and inspiration for cancer survivors and their loved ones. The conference explores the physical, emotional and spiritual components of a cancer diagnosis. It will also celebrate the giving and receiving of support, both of which are essential to cancer survivorship.
Harris Faulkner and Tony Berlin, husband and wife television news personalities, will emcee the Saturday event. Mark Moyad, MD, MPH, will speak about nutrition and dietary supplements. He will augment his talk with studies that show whether or not these therapies work. Nicole Wentworth, MD, will discuss new information on the horizon for the treatment of cancer. Keynote speaker Jeanne Robertson will provide a humorist's perspective on cancer survivorship. Other highlights include discussions on the spiritual side of healing, a healing arts exhibit, a fashion show by and for survivors, door prizes, and a boutique featuring clothing, jewelry, books, massage, candles, cards and more.
"What You Need to Know About Prostate Cancer", sponsored by HealthEast Prostate Cancer Care, is an educational session presented by Dr. Moyad and Dr. Thomas Stormont on Friday, October 8. Dinner and refreshments will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
"We're very excited about this year's events," says Jane Klein, HealthEast Breast Care Center Program Coordinator. "Our philosophy emphasizes treating the whole person, and these events offer education and support in a number of areas."
