Cirrus Health Announces Mark Timothy Parris As CEO

TROPHY CLUB, Texas, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Cirrus Health, a premiere healthcare development and management company, today announced the appointment of Mark Timothy (Tim) Parris to the position of chief executive officer, effective June 6, 2005. As CEO, Parris will oversee operations and financial performance for Cirrus Health, a leading developer of ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, imaging centers and medical office buildings, with locations in Texas, California, Nevada and Kansas. Donald Wilson, president and founder of Cirrus Health, had served in the capacity of CEO since the company’s inception in 1999. Due to the continued growth of the company, Wilson has appointed Parris, a seasoned and nationally-known and respected healthcare executive, to the leadership position.

Prior to joining Cirrus, Parris served with the Baylor Healthcare System in a variety of executive and management positions since 1981. Parris served most recently as president of Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and executive vice president for the Baylor Healthcare System. As president of Baylor University Medical Center, Parris oversaw operations for the 1030-bed tertiary and teaching hospital, which is the flagship facility for the Baylor Healthcare System. Parris also served as executive vice president with the Baylor Healthcare System, overseeing five community and specialty hospitals, ambulatory surgery network, research institute, construction company, and a wellness and fitness center.

Parris received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, his Master of Science Degree in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and completed his Hospital Administration Residency Program at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Parris also attended the Institute for Executive Leadership at Rhodes College. He has served in the Executive Office of the President, Washington, D.C., Office of Management and Budget, and was Special Assistant to the Director, the Honorable James C. Miller, III, where he was responsible for intradepartmental coordination of Economic Development and Domestic Policy Council Issues following his selection as a White House Fellow in 1985.

Parris has served on numerous boards, including Baylor University Medical Center, the Health Industry Council, International Business Advisory Council, and Skilled Care Inc. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, and an adjunct faculty member and distinguished alumnus at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a syndicated columnist with Texas Healthcare Monthly, and has written numerous articles on a variety of healthcare topics.
