SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Telecommunications executive Bob Lee has been elected to the Blue Shield of California Board of Directors. A former president of Pacific Bell’s Business Communications Services, Lee currently serves as a business consultant for several leading telecommunications and technology companies. He was elected in August to a three-year term on the not-for-profit health plan’s 13-member governing body.

Lee retired from Pacific Bell in 1998. During his 26-year career, he established two new subsidiaries, Pacific Bell Internet Services and Pacific Bell Network Integration. He also engineered the agreement with the San Francisco Giants to name their new stadium Pacific Bell Park (now SBC Park).
Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Southern California and received his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. He serves on the boards of Interland, Inc., Broadvision, and Netopia, Inc. In addition, he is a board member of the Asian Pacific Fund and chairman of the Committee of 100. He is also a member of the Board of Councilors for the USC School of Engineering.
