COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina has made it even easier for physicians, hospitals, and dentists to use its popular Internet claims filing by enabling patient data to be input just once in a new function called “Your Patient Directory.”
Previously, providers had to manually enter all the information on the patient as well as the visit each time they submitted a claim. Now they can enter patient information one time and save it for use on future claims. They also may add, delete and update patient information whenever necessary.
Your Patient Directory is located within My Insurance Manager(SM), the secure section of http://www.southcarolinablues.com/ , where claims can be submitted and adjudicated immediately, and other information such as a patient’s eligibility, other insurance, claims status, and referral authorization can be viewed.
“Your Patient Directory is easy to use and speeds up claims filing,” said Dr. John Little, BlueCross’ vice president for healthcare services. “This enhancement significantly reduces the amount of time that it takes providers to file their claims directly to BlueCross.”
To date, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina has received nearly 1.5 million claims via SouthCarolinaBlues.com.
