LUTZ, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bioinfinity USA, a medical device company focused on women’s pelvic health, announces the launch of the Vibrance™ Pelvic Trainer, an award-winning, FDA-cleared biofeedback device that provides variable resistance training for a woman’s pelvic floor muscles to improve pelvic health and quality of life. “Close to 50% of mid-life women report pelvic symptoms of urinary incontinence, prolapse and pelvic pain and 33% report decreased sexual satisfaction.¹ In the past pelvic health was limited to telling women to do pelvic exercises post-pregnancy and in treating urinary incontinence and prolapse after they manifest.”
Dr. Debra Wickham, MD, FACOG, Section Head, Female Sexual Medicine and Menopause at Banner University Medical Center – Phoenix, says, “Close to 50% of mid-life women report pelvic symptoms of urinary incontinence, prolapse and pelvic pain and 33% report decreased sexual satisfaction.¹ In the past pelvic health was limited to telling women to do pelvic exercises post-pregnancy and in treating urinary incontinence and prolapse after they manifest.”
Vibrance Pelvic Trainer – Empowering Women from Within. Literally.
“Technological advances such as the Vibrance Pelvic Trainer represent a paradigm shift in pelvic health,” explains Dr. Wickman. “With a device like Vibrance, women cannot only treat the symptoms of poor pelvic health they can take a proactive and preventative health approach by strengthening their pelvic floor muscles, allowing them to prevent incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Vibrance can provide women with the benefits of good pelvic health, confident bladder control, sexual wellness and relief from back pain caused by weak pelvic support. “
Pelvic Floor Exercises and the “No-guesswork” Vibrance
In 1948 Dr. Arnold Kegel, a gynecologist at the University of Southern California, developed exercises to strengthen pelvic floor muscles. Since that time women have been advised by physicians to do pelvic floor exercises. When done correctly, pelvic floor exercises have shown great effectiveness at treating symptoms associated with weak pelvic floor such as stress urinary incontinence. However, studies show that up to 30% of women are exercising the wrong muscle group, leading to no progress in improving their pelvic health issues.
The Vibrance Pelvic Trainer uses a patented vibration biofeedback technology to help women know with certainty they are performing the exercises correctly. There are two enclosed electronic circuits – an active vibration biofeedback for the identification of the correct muscles and one for audio guided training. This innovative design feature led the Vibrance Pelvic Trainer to be awarded a 2012 Medical Design Excellence Award/Silver Winner in the self-care and over-the-counter category.
Vibrance Resistance Training
Vibrance consists of a main biofeedback unit and three training sleeves. The training sleeves are made of medical grade silicone rubber and provide graduated levels of resistance for pelvic muscle training.
