Amedica Hires Gene Jones To Its Executive Team

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Amedica Corporation announced today that it has hired a seasoned senior executive, Eugene B. Jones as its VP Finance and CFO.

Eugene "Gene" Jones is a 30-year KPMG veteran, being elected to partnership with the firm in 1984. From June 2000 he served an assurance partner in KPMG's Silicon Valley technology practice. Prior to joining the Silicon Valley office, Gene served in KPMG's Frankfurt, Germany office where he managed the US GAAP Conversion Team from Europe. He has also served in the San Francisco, New York, and Salt Lake City offices where he worked with clients concentrated in the technology, banking, and general commercial industries.

Gene brings valuable broad based experience in taking technology companies public, having served for over 10 years as one of KPMG's select SEC Reviewing Partners. In this latter capacity he was responsible for the final approval of the firm's involvement in client filings with the SEC under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Exchange Act of 1934. He also has substantial experience in advising on revenue recognition issues, including the application of the SEC's Staff Accounting Bulletin No. 101. Clients included National Semiconductor Corporation, Solectron, Inc., Electronic Arts Corporation, Myriad Genetics, Inc. and NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
