ACT Launches Skill-Enhancement System For Healthcare Employees

IOWA CITY, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2005--HR and training executives in healthcare, an industry plagued by workforce shortages, now have targeted tools to reduce turnover and hire skilled employees. ACT today launched “Healthcare Readiness Systems,” the first in a line of ACT workforce development services designed for a specific industry. The Department of Labor reports that half of the 20 fastest-growing careers in the U.S. are in the healthcare field, yet 80 percent of the industry is facing workforce shortages. Hiring, training, and retaining qualified entry-level employees is a critical problem for hospitals and other healthcare providers.
