Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca’s move to Cambridge must go ahead even if it is taken over by American rival Pfizer, according to the city’s MP. Julian Huppert today tabled an Early Day Motion in the Commons aimed at ensuring about 2,000 jobs come to Cambridge in a £330 million project. The move from AstraZeneca’s existing research site in Cheshire has been mired in uncertainty since Pfizer’s takeover plans emerged.
