Quintiles, Inc. Spinoff NovaQuest Banks $80 Million in Pooled Funder

NovaQuest Capital Management has closed on $80 million in pooled investments from six investors, according to a securities filing. The Raleigh-based Quintiles spinout, which has $520 million under management, is fronted by managing partner Ron Wooten and invests primarily in late-stage clinical assets and commercial-phase biopharmaceutical products. NovaQuest, previously an investment arm of Quintiles, began to operate separately in late 2010, licensing its brand name from the contract research organization.
