Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. Announces Results Of Clinical Trial Of Mosapride Citrate

Tokyo, Apr 27, 2006 (JCN) - Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma announced on April 25 that it has presented the results of the Japan Mosapride Mega-Study (JMMS), a large-scale randomized clinical trial of mosapride citrate for functional dyspepsia (FD). The JMMS, which was led by the Japan-International Society for Gastrointestinal Motility, covered more than 1,000 patients in Japan. According to the announcement, the results of endoscopy showed that 91.2% of the subjects suspected of having FD don't have lesions. Therefore, the study concluded that FD is not necessarily related to histological lesions.
