A year after getting hired by Cincinnati-based AtriCure Inc., CEO Michael Carrel still hasn't left Minnesota. The opposite, in fact — he's bringing more of the med-tech company here. The Star Tribune has a report on Carrel's push to split AtriCure's executive team and establish a research-and-development center in Minnetonka. Manufacturing will stay in Ohio, but Carrel wants to build partnerships with the University of Minnesota and employ about 20 people at the company's local operations.
